Guidance on Food Safety for Home-Producers of Chutneys, Pickles, Flavoured Oils and Jams

The document attached to this page (upper right) is designed to be printed off and kept by small scale food producers who are making jam and preserves for the retail market. If you are selling Jams, pickles, oils or preserves then this information is essential to the controls of your business.

If you are making and selling jam in any manner, the food law requirements remain the same. You will also need to contact Trading Standards to ensure that your product labelling is up to the legal requirements.
