LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 2000 THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES (REFERENDUMS) (PETITIONS) (ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2011
VERIFICATION NUMBER FOR THE COUNCIL OF THE ISLES OF SCILLY
This notice gives information about the minimum number of signatures which is required for a Petition under the Local Government Act 2000. The effect of such a Petition would be to require the Council of the Isles of Scilly to hold a Referendum about constitutional change in the way the Council conducts its business.
TAKE NOTICE that:
(1) Theo Leijser Chief Executive and Proper Officer of the Council of the Isles of Scilly, has published the number that is equal to 5 per cent of the number of local government electors shown in the electoral registers having effect for the Council's area published in February 2018 ("the verification number").
(2) The verification number is 88.35.
(3) The verification number will have effect for the purposes of determining the validity of petitions for the 12-month period beginning 1 April 2018.
(4) The address of the Council's principal office is: Town Hall, St Mary's, Isles of Scilly, TR21 0LW.
