Attendance at Committee meetings

Members of the public are very welcome to come in and listen to the debate at the majority of meetings of Council and Committees, and a reasonable number of agendas and reports are usually available at no charge, on the public benches at the start of each meeting. Elected Members are very keen to see the public benches used!

The dates of all Council meetings and Committee meetings of the Council are listed in the Council Calendar, from where you can also download the agenda and minutes of each meeting.

If you are unable to attend a meeting, our Council meetings and some Committee meetings are Webcast enabling you to watch and listen to the meeting from wherever you are.

A leaflet is available from the reception in the Town Hall on how meetings work to enable members of the public to understand how a debate progresses towards a consensus and a final resolution. Please Contact the Council to obtain a copy of the leaflet.
