The Council of the Isles of Scilly is a unique authority, being one of the smallest unitary authorities in England and delivering a broad range of services including education, childrens' services, adult services, planning, housing, environment, fire and rescue, water, sewerage and airport to the remote community on the Isles of Scilly, located some 45 km south west of Land's End in the Atlantic Ocean.
