This is the Council's Childcare Sufficiency Audit.
The Childcare Act 2006 has placed statutory duties on Local Authorities to ensure there is sufficient childcare available to meet the needs of parents, carers and children.
The role of the Local Authority is focused on shaping and developing the childcare market through an assessment of childcare sufficiency resulting in the Childcare Sufficiency Document which is effective from April 1st 2008. The assessment will be conducted every three years and will be integrated into the Isles of Scilly Children and Young People's Plan.
The Appendices map the current supply of registered childcare available on the Isles of Scilly. An audit of Private Voluntary and Independent (PVI) provision is included.
