Isles of Scilly LEA
The Isles of Scilly LEA is the second smallest LEA in the country, containing only 1 Federated school, The Five Islands School with approximately 250 pupils. The Director of Children's Services is Mr P S Hygate B.A., F.R.S.A..
The Council of the Isles of Scilly is committed to providing excellent services for children, young people and families and to promote healthy and inclusive communities.
The continued success of our school is paramount to this commitment and with the Head Teacher Andrew Penman, together with his team of excellent teachers working in partnership with Cambridge Education @ The Isles of Scilly, we are striving hard toward our shared goal of ensuring that all children on the Isles of Scilly reach their full potential.
Cambridge Education @ The Isles of Scilly together with the Five Islands School have developed a School Improvement Management Plan which outlines the key activities for the school over the next year. This covers:
- Achievement in Literacy and ICT
- Implementation of new 11-16 curriculum model
- CPD Programmes for staff and governors
- Cross-phase liaison activities
- SEN and Gifted and Talented pupils
- Co-ordinated approach to local and national initiatives
- Implementation of Workforce Reform agenda
