The Evolving Isles Project
The Council of the Isles of Scilly and the Learning and Skills Council for Devon and Cornwall have secured a grant from the European Social Fund to "provide support and training to businesses and services involved in the tourism industry."
Project Targets
To provide 56 NVQ or equivalent qualifications at level 2 or above.
To support 15 businesses by providing this training.
The duration of this project is from 6th October 2005 to 30th June 2007. This project has subsequently been extended by the Learning and Skills Council to 30th September 2007.
The aim of this project to contribute to the long-term economic sustainability and viability of the Islands.
Project Progress
At the end of May 2007, the project has supported 142 individuals from 37 local businesses in 174 qualifications. To date 92 of these individuals have passed and obtained full qualifications.
