Further education and higher education
There is no post-16 provision on the Islands. Students leaving The Five Islands School attend at colleges/schools with 6th forms on the mainland. Both of these are funded through the Young Persons Learning Agency (YPLA).
A grant is available from the YPLA to each student in support of accommodation and travel costs for the academic year.
