Further education and higher education
There is no post-16 provision on the Islands. Students leaving The Five Islands School attend at colleges/schools with 6th forms on the mainland. Both of these are funded through the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
A grant is available from the LSC to each student in support of accommodation costs for the academic year. The Council of the Isles of Scilly funds three return trips per year to the school/college.
