Listed buildings
There are 129 listed buildings in Scilly ranging from traditional dwellings and farm buildings to the Elizabethan Star Castle, one of the four Grade I listed buildings. All development affecting the character or appearance of a listed building requires an application for listed building consent to be made to the Planning Department.
The Council administers an English Heritage funded grant scheme to assist with the repair of historic buildings on the islands. For details go to www.english-heritage.org.uk.
