Out-of-hours emergencies

There is an Officer of the Council available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for serious problems outside office hours.

The out of hours service provides an Officer for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to deal with problems involving:

  • serious events
  • fatalities
  • imminent risks to health
  • acute pollution of the environment

which do not always occur during office hours.

Although each call is an emergency to the caller, the majority received can be dealt with by advice or referral to a more appropriate service, but the duty officer will always be available and will visit to take the necessary action if required.

This service can be used by residents who become aggrieved in evenings, weekends and over the holiday periods when the offices are closed.
