THE DRAFT ISLES OF SCILLY DESIGN GUIDE

Colin Buchanan in association with Context4D has been appointed by the Council of the Isles of Scilly and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty joint Advisory committee to prepare a Design Guide for the islands.

The Isles of Scilly Design Guide will complement the new Local Plan and the AONB Management Plan. It aims to promote and achieve high quality design on the islands by offering clear and practical guidance. The intention is for the Design Guide to be inspirational and raise the standard of design to ensure the special character of Scilly is retained and where possible enhanced.

We all have a stake in the future of the islands. As such we want you to be involved in the preparation of this important document. Your views on the draft Design Guide would be very much appreciated and will help shape its final contents. The draft Design Guide can be viewed from Thursday 12th Janaury 2006 via the link below as well as the Planning and Development Department in the Old Wesleyan Chapel, St Mary's, the Library on St Mary's and the Post Offices, Community Halls or Reading Rooms on each of the off-islands.

To enable the document to be completed as soon as possible, please ensure your views are returned to the Planning and Development Department, preferably on the specially prepared forms, no later than Friday the 24th February 2006.
