POLICY 7 - SAFEGUARD POWER STATION, ST MARYS
The power station on St. Mary's will be safeguarded as a standby facility.
50. The relatively recent supply of electricity from the national grid to the islands remains vulnerable and the power station plays an important role in the event of a failure in supply.
51. Until reliable mainland links or alternative supplies of power are assured for the long term, it is essential to retain this backup facility.
