Adult Social Care has a Mental Health Coordinator who provides advice, support and signposting for members of the community who are experiencing emotional or mental health issues. Mind Recovery mental health support
Mind Recovery is a relaxed, friendly, confidential group which aimes to:
- Offer peer support to individuals who are experiencing or recovering from depression, anxiety or other mental health problem.
- Provide self help materials and resources -we have our own library of books and CDs
- Offer helpful information and therapies -such as alternative therapies, arts and crafts and depression and anxiety management.
Attendance at the group, refreshments and therapies are all free of charge.
We understand that it can be difficult to attend a group for the first time. Therefore we can arrange for you to meet a member of the group before your first visit if you wish. If you would like to discuss this or just want more information please call Rowan in confidence on 01720 424 000.
Memory Cafe
The Isles of Scilly Memory cafe is open between 2pm and 4:30pm at the Garden Pavillion (next to the parish church) every Friday. All senior members of the community and/or carers are welcome to drop in for a coffee, a chat and to socialise.
Activities include:
- Singing
- Arts and Crafts
- Reminiscence games
- Gentle Exercise
