Safeguarding vulnerable adults is everybody's business. Ensuring that vulnerable adults are effectively protected from abuse and neglect is a key priority. The Council of the Isles of Scilly recognises that vulnerable people can be abused and are committed to working in partnership with other agencies both to prevent abuse and to investigate allegations of abuse.
In order to keep people safe, we are members of the Cornwall and IoS Safeguarding Adults Board that meets in Truro four times a year. If you have any concerns about a friend, relative or neighbour, please contact Adult Social Care on 01720 424 000 during office hours. At other times please call 01720 422 699. Your call will be treated with complete discretion and the Adult Social Care department will respond to your concerns. We would rather find, upon investigation, that there are no safeguarding issues than for vulnerable adults to be at risk.
