The above categories have all concentrated on putting right or maintaining the existing structure or facilities in tenant's homes. In short, it deals mainly with 'fair wear and tear' repairs issues. It does not tackle other major issues in tenant's homes that can need upgrading or improvement work, such as insulation, heating systems, new windows, electrical wiring or kitchen improvement schemes, etc.
The Council recognizes the importance of these issues to tenants and this was one of the reasons why we commissioned a Stock Condition Survey during 2002. This survey covered all the Council's houses and will help us to prioritize and programme the type of upgrading/improvements work in years to come.
The Council will always try to give tenants affected by major works projects as much notice as possible before they start.
