The Council works to curb anti-social behaviour, using both preventive measures and the various contracts and orders available under recent legislation.
Strategic Aims; the Islands have a partnership working on projects to minimise the risk of crime and disorder. This work is part of a wider partnership of the police, fire, health services and drug and alcohol services across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The main strategy document is here.
Alcohol Free discos; for safe and fun entertainment the Porthcressa Inn can be used for discos, bands and such like entertainment by arrangment with the Community Safety Officer.
ASBOs; anti-social behaviour orders are granted by the courts to restrict and control behaviour that causes alarm, harrassment or distress. Contact the community safety officer in strict confidence if you have concerns about anti social behaviour in your area.
Alcohol related crime; the Council seeks to minimise the negative consequences of drink on individuals and the wider community. We support a counselling service for drug and alcohol problems provided by CADA, a Pubwatch, powers to control drinking in public places and many other measures. Are you a 'responsible drinker'? check this advice from the National Health Service.
