Normandy Community Swimming Pool

The Pool at NormandyThis pool was built approximately twenty years ago, for the owner of the Normandy Hotel. It has since been taken over by the Council of the Isles of Scilly and in 2002 went under a major refurbishment programme. The pool was finally re- opened in June 2003.

It is very popular with the local community and also the Five Islands School, who use it as part of their curriculum education.

It is available for hire at anytime between April and October and all bookings are made at the Town Hall in St. Mary's.

Activities include:

Splash Club: Saturday - 1.00 - 4.00pm

  • Open sessions: Monday & Thursday 4.30pm to 7pm; (see additional poster Normandy Pool Summer Opening Times) Saturday - 9.00am - 12.00pm & Sunday - 1.00pm - 4.00pm
  • Water Babies - Thursdays 1.30pm to 3.30pm
  • Kayak Training

There are 19 fully qualified lifeguards and their training is ongoing throughout the season.

The pool will operate every Saturday and Sunday from the end of April 2007 up to October 2007 .


Opening times:

  • Saturday: 10 - 12 noon; 2 - 4 pm
  • Sunday: 2 - 4 pm

Costs:

  • Open sessions - Adults...........................£2.75
  • Open sessions - Children........................£1.70

There is no need to book, just turn up.

  • Approved groups - £22.00 per hour
  • Additional charges for Thrid Party Liability Insurance (where applicatioble) per session: £1.90 per hour for bookable sessions
