Please note: this only effects properties for which the owner/occupier is paying non-domestic rates. People who pay Council tax won’t be required to take any action.
From April 2015, the system for paying for your commercial ‘black bag’ waste is changing.
The new system means that instead of having to estimate the amount of waste you might produce in a year, as has previously taken place, you will now simply buy special pre-paid waste sacks from the Council in advance. These will be a light grey colour with text printed on the side which can be easily identified by the Waste & Recycling Team.
Off-island businesses will also need to purchase the pre-paid sacks; these can be taken to the Council operated waste sites for disposal.
The pre-paid waste sacks will be ready for collection or delivery to customers at the end of March. If you would prefer to be invoiced for these you can place an order in advance from today. Once payment has been received we will either post these out to the property or let you know when the bags are ready to collect.
