Isles of Scilly Airport Community Open Day

Tour the new airport facilities on Sunday 8th February from 2-5pm.

We hope you’ll join us as we reveal the new facilities at the redeveloped Isles of Scilly Airport. Visitors will be able to go behind the scenes to see how luggage and freight are handled. There will also be tours of the air traffic control tower and a chance to look inside the fire engine.

Off-island boating will be provided for the day. There will also be a free half-hourly bus service (on the hour) from Holgate's Green.

The redevelopment project commenced in June 2014 and included substantial improvements to the terminal and runways. Passengers can now enjoy a glass facade with excellent views as well as larger seating areas, a new cafe and modern check-in facilities. Other improvements have been made to baggage-handling, freight-handling and parking. Staff have also benefited from improvements to the crew area. Work on the terminal and runways was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and cost £6.5 million.

The open day is an excellent opportunity to see these improvements in action, and we look forward to seeing you there!
