NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE AND MAINS WATER REPAIRS, Porthloo, St Marys

Essential repair works will be undertaken to a section of the water mains at Porthloo on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th March.  It is likely that St Mary's public water customers may experience interruption to their supply during this time. Any interruption will be avoided as far as possible but the scale of the works cannot be anticipated.

Due to the location of the works, the road will need to be closed on both days. There will be no vehicular access past Porthloo Terrace, although the route from the duck pond to Porthloo boat park will remain open.

Once the repairs have been undertaken, there is likely to be some discolouration of the water. This is normal. White ‘milky’ appearing water (which clears on standing) is as a result of aeration to the water and can last several days. Any other discolouration is a disturbance of sediment which will only last a very short time and can be cleared by running your taps.

In the meantime, if you suffer a disruption to your supply please contact the Water Services Department through the Council's customer service hubs or via telephone on 0300 1234 105
