Road Resurfacing Update - 4th June

Weather permitting the road works today in Old Town will commence with the planing of the section of Old Town Lane from the Old Town Inn to the Airport road.

This will be followed in mid – morning by the re- surfacing of Old Town Lane from the junction of Launceston Close working towards the junction of Ennor Close.

Both the planing and resurfacing operations will cause disruption to traffic due to the size of the machines being used and the fact the road is a single vehicle width in many places. Please allow extra time and take care if passing this way.

For businesses, residents and visitors the best access to Old Town will be from Hugh Town and access to the airport from Hugh Town will be better via Parting Carn.

The road will be re-opened in the evening after work (between 6 and 7pm) for normal passage of vehicles through Old Town.

You are kindly requested to avoid making tight turns on the newly laid asphalt.

Lagan Construction Ltd sincerely apologises for any disturbance during these works and thanks you in advance for your co-operation and forbearance. Please contact us on 07825 167569 if there are any problems during this work.

The St Mary’s Island Road Resurfacing Works are financed by the Council of the Isles of Scilly.
