Procurement

The National Procurement Strategy describes procurement as "the process of acquiring goods, works and services, covering both acquisition from third parties and from in-house providers. The process spans the whole cycle from identification of needs, through to the end of a services contract or the end of the useful life of an asset ."

The Council aims to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness through its procurement processes. The Procurement Strategy Opens in a new window sets the framework for the Council of the Isles of Scilly that will ensure that purchasing fulfils the Best Value requirements, Community wellbeing, the sustainability and takes into consideration diversity and equality across all services and contributes to the achievement of the Authority's corporate priorities and strategic objectives. The Council's policies, strategy and processes for procurement are contained within the Corporate Procurement Strategy and further information on contracts and expenditure is to be found in the appendices.

The Council is aiming to produce a set of guidelines for doing business with the council. When the guidelines have been finalised, this will be added to the website. In the meantime please contact the Procurement Team for more information.
