The 2011 World Pilot Gig Championships are held in the Isles of Scilly this year, from Friday the 29th April to May 2nd. Following a risk assessment of the area around the Strand where the gigs are stored and from where they are launched, there is a Temporary Prohibition Order on traffic in this area.
