Your waste & recycling collection may have been missed for several reasons. To ensure that your waste is collected please ensure the following:
- Your waste & recycling is ready on your collection day at 8:30am. Although the collection team will aim to collect your waste at the same time each week, sometimes they are running ahead of schedule and sometimes they are running behind. By ensuring that your waste & recycling is ready to be collected at 8:30am you are ensuring that no matter what time of day they come, your waste will be collected.
- Your waste & recycling is placed by the kerbside where our collection team can both see it and collect it from the highway. The collection team will not enter private property to collect your waste and recycling.
- Items for recycling are correct as per the guidance issued and are clean and dry
- All items are presented in a securely tied bag and the bags do not weigh more than 10kg each - any oversized or heavy items need to be taken to the Porthmellon Waste & Recycling Site, or off island waste site.
If you notice the surrounding properties have also not had their waste & recycling collected, then the collection team may be running behind schedule.
