Why do we collect your personal information?
The information you provide will be used for the following reason(s):
- To inform the development of the Council of the Isles of Scilly’s Local Plan.
What personal information do we collect?
The survey does not collect sensitive information. Where there may be personally identifiable information, this will be anonymised and aggregated together. We collect the following personal information:
- Annual household income
- Monthly Rental/Mortgage Payments
- Postcode
More information may be needed depending on your individual circumstances.
What is our legal basis for collecting and using your information?
We use the following legal reason for obtaining your information:
The processing is necessary to enable the Council of the Isles of Scilly to perform a task in the public interest. The legislation for developing a Local Plan which underpins our use of your personal information is:
- Town and Country Planning Local Planning Regulations 2012; and
- Section 19 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004
The evidence base is crucial to support the plan's development and justify its proposals, often incorporating the findings of the sustainability appraisal, which itself is informed by the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Regulations 2004.
Who do we share your information with and why?
We may share your information with other organisations, as allowed by law, and partner agencies that provide services on our behalf.
There may be other organisations we need to share your information with, we will always make sure this is done in compliance with the law.
How do we keep your information secure?
The records we keep about you are secure and confidential within the Council. The Council have a range of procedures, polices and systems to ensure that access to your records is controlled appropriately. Anyone who receives information from us is also under a legal duty to only use the information for the purposes agreed and keep the information secure and confidential.
Where do we store your information?
Where necessary, we may transfer personal information outside of the UK. When doing so, we comply with the UK GDPR, making sure appropriate safeguards are in place. Please contact us for more information.
How long do we keep your personal information?
After we deliver a service to you, we must keep your information as a business record of what was delivered.
Your records will be retained in accordance with Council of the Isles of Scilly's records retention schedule as follows: your personal details will be held for one month following the completion of the Local Plan report.
