Registered Manager, Residential and Community Care Services

The Council of the Isles of Scilly is seeking an experienced and compassionate Operational Lead to oversee the delivery of high-quality residential, domiciliary and community care services across our unique island community.

This is a pivotal leadership role within Adult Social Care, combining operational management, regulatory accountability and service improvement. As the Registered Manager for the Council's care services, you will lead dedicated teams to provide safe, person-centred support that enables people to live with dignity, independence and choice.

Working closely with the Head of Adult Social Care and health partners, you will help shape and develop integrated services that respond to the needs of one of England's most distinctive communities. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the day-to-day operational delivery of residential, domiciliary and community care services
• Acting as the Registered Manager and ensuring compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and regulatory requirements
• Driving service quality, continuous improvement and positive outcomes for residents and service users
• Leading and developing multidisciplinary teams through effective supervision, coaching and performance management
• Managing recruitment, workforce planning, training and professional development across services
• Ensuring care plans are personalised, effective and regularly reviewed to meet individual needs
• Building strong relationships with health colleagues, families, carers, community organisations and external partners
• Managing complaints, inspections, audits and quality assurance processes
• Supporting service transformation and leading change initiatives that improve efficiency and care quality
• Contributing to strategic planning, commissioning and service development across Adult Social Care

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds an NVQ Level 5 in Care or an equivalent qualification. Applications are welcomed from registered professionals such as:
  
  • Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN)
  • Registered General Nurses (RGN
  • Occupational Therapists (OT)
  • Social Workers

where they can demonstrate substantial experience of managing regulated adult social care services and willingness to obtain any registration requirements necessary for the role.

• Has significant experience leading adult social care services, including residential and/or domiciliary care
• Possesses a thorough understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care and relevant social care legislation
• Has experience of working within CQC regulated services and maintaining high-quality standards
• Is a confident and inspirational leader with excellent people management and communication skills
• Can effectively manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates a commitment to partnership working, continuous improvement and professional development
