Corporate and Commercial Assets Assistant

The Council of the Isles of Scilly is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Corporate and Commercial Assets Assistant to join our Place, Economy and Environment Directorate. You will support the effective management of the Council’s commercial and corporate property portfolio, helping to ensure our assets are well managed, compliant and delivering value for our island communities.

This is a varied role with significant contact with tenants, businesses, councillors and colleagues across the Council. You will play a key part in delivering an efficient and responsive property service, supporting tenant relationships, property compliance, income management and day-to-day asset administration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of the Council’s commercial and corporate property estate
  • Administering leases, tenancy agreements and the commercial assets register
  • Advertising and managing lettings at the Porthmellon Innovation and Enterprise Centre
  • Coordinating property maintenance and statutory compliance checks
  • Managing rent invoicing, income collection and supporting the recovery of arrears
  • Building positive relationships with tenants and resolving enquiries and issues promptly
  • Supporting property budgets and wider strategic development projects as required

About you

You will bring:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience of commercial property management, property administration, or a willingness to learn
  • Strong organisational and customer service skills
  • Financial and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem solving
