Help us celebrate World Social Work Day – 17 March 2026

In celebration of World Social Work Day on Tuesday 17 March 2026, we want to give the community a chance to hear about some of the positive impacts of social work, both in the wider UK and in other communities across the world.

Join the Adult Social Care team at St Mary’s Library from 10am - 12.30pm on Tuesday 17 March 2026 to listen to a series of talks and presentations from those who work in social care about their experiences outside of the islands and around the globe. Attendees will hear some interesting stories, learn about the wide range of services delivered by social workers and help us celebrate the successes of our social work community over a cuppa and a slice of cake.

From 2pm, we will also be joined by our NHS colleagues, who will share information and answer questions about care work opportunities within the islands’ newly integrated health and care services.

Drop in at any point so you can help us spread the word about the value of social work to communities everywhere!

The full programme for the day can be viewed below.
