The Council has received a flood alert from the Environment Agency which reads as follows:

"IMPORTANT FLOODING INFORMATION FOR THE COUNCIL OF THE ISLES OF SCILLY
Flooding is possible over the high tide this evening, Tuesday 29th September. High water at St Marys is at 7:14pm.
Southerly winds and moderate waves are forecast to cause flooding to low lying land and roads between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
Locations particularly at risk include Old Town and Porthcressa areas of St. Mary’s, and St. Martin’s quay. Spray and wave overtopping of quaysides and low lying roads is likely in exposed coastal locations. Do not walk or drive through flood water or waves.
Coastal conditions should ease for Wednesday morning’s high tide.
Detailed tidal information: The forecast high tide level at St Marys is 3.24mAOD or 6.15mCD. This is around 0.37 metres above tide table level due to storm surge. Near gale, Force 7 southerly winds and offshore wave heights of over 3.6m are forecast over the high tide."
