The annual meeting of Council took place on 10 May 2022 and saw new appointments across committees and roles within the Council of the Isles of Scilly. Cllr Robert Francis was re-elected unanimously as Chairman of Council. Cllr Frances Grottick was re-elected unanimously as Vice-Chairman.

Cllr Robert Francis, Chairman of Council, said: "I would like to thank my fellow Councillors for re-electing me as Chairman of the Council of the Isles of Scilly for a fifth term. I remain extremely proud to represent my community and look forward to seeing what this year brings as the Council tackles a number of very ambitious and important projects and seeks to strengthen its services in the wake of the disruption of the pandemic. It is not lost on me how important this year will be for our community and you can be assured that I will do my very best for you all.”
Cllr Frances Grottick, Vice-Chairman of Council, said: "I am delighted to have been re-elected to the post of Vice-Chairman once more. I am also pleased to be continuing in my role as Lead Member for Finance, Governance, Risk and Performance. The Chairman and I are well aware that we are navigating difficult times, with the cost of living increasing nationally and that this is likely to mean a greater reliance on Council services. I echo the Chairman’s commitment to ensuring the Council continues to deliver on the promises we have made to our community.”
