You may notice some activity around St Mary's this evening (Wednesday, 9 February 2022) as a training exercise will be taking place.
The exercise will involve people from various agencies including the Council of the Isles of Scilly and the emergency services. The purpose is to help ensure that the islands are fully prepared for a real emergency.
Whilst there may be some lights and noise from the airport for part of the evening, there is no danger to those at the scene or nearby. Disruption within the vicinity of the exercise will be kept to a minimum.
After the event there will be a review of the exercise and further information available.
