Remembrance Sunday commemorations 2020

Sadly, due to the current social restrictions and advice relating to the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Remembrance Sunday service will not be a public event.

Instead, a private service attended by 6 invited representatives will be held in the Park from 11am on 8 November. We respectfully ask that you maintain your distance from the Park for the duration of the service to help us ensure this official commemoration can go ahead safely and in accordance with government guidance.

We are aware that many of you will have wreaths you wish to lay privately, and ask that you do so in accordance with the latest social distancing restrictions over the course of the rest of the day.

The Reverend Canon Perran Gay has also arranged to hold a short online Remembrance Reflection at 11:30am via Zoom for his regular congregation and anyone else who would like to join. Please contact him directly to arrange this at chaplain@scilly.church.

We encourage you to commemorate the day at home and in line with government guidance on social distancing and it is our hope that the usual arrangements can resume next year.
