Scilly's Unsung Heroes recognised by High Sheriff of Cornwall

The manager of Park House residential and community care services team on the Isles of Scilly, Claudia Schwarz has received an Unsung Heroes award from the High Sheriff of Cornwall on behalf of all of the Park House team. The award is in recognition of the exceptional care being provided to our residents and service users in such challenging times.

Claudia said ‘it is an absolute privilege to work with such a wonderful team. The love and dedication to their work has singled them out to receive this award, and it is much deserved. Throughout it all we continue to be supported by the families of our residents, council staff and Members, our colleagues in health and everyone in the wider community who are so committed about keeping our care home safe.’

Councillor Dan Marcus, Lead Member for Adults, stated ‘It’s great to see our care staff recognised for their hard work. All of the Park House team have ensured that our residents have had the best possible care in these trying circumstances. A big well done to everyone! I also want to take this opportunity to thank all council workers who have gone above and beyond in the last 6 months.  Many council roles are conducted in the background, but the staff have tirelessly planned and prepared to keep services running and our community safe.’

Aaron Hail and Mark Bothwick of Bryher Shop and Post Office also received the award for going the extra mile for their community during the pandemic.
