URGENT: request to move vehicles for works on Buzza Street and Church Street on Tuesday 27 February 2024

We urgently need the community’s help to clear areas of Buzza Street and Church Street of vehicles before works using the Council’s cherry picker can begin at 9am tomorrow, Tuesday 27 February 2024. We apologise for the late notice, but we are hoping to take advantage of a break in the weather to get the works completed.

Cornwall Woodburners has hired the Council’s cherry picker and a member of our ticketed operational team to access the chimneys of two properties on St Mary’s, in order to complete a mixture of Council and private works. They are scheduled to start work on 4 Buzza Street at 9am tomorrow and move on to Poltair on Church Street later in the day.

We ask that anyone with a car parked in the area around either property removes it before 9am tomorrow and that nobody tries to park in these areas until at least 5pm tomorrow. The Council will place cones in the areas which need to be kept clear as and when the vehicles currently parked there are moved. Signage and barriers will also be put in place as required.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact environment@scilly.gov.uk or call 01720 424450 in the first instance.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
