Recycling Collections: Blue Sacks

Recycling Sack Guidance

Please put these items in your household recycling sack

  • Paper
  • Card
  • Plastic bottles
  • Plastic pots, tubs & trays
  • Household metals (aerosols, tin foil, tin cans).

All items must be clean, dry and free from contaminants such as food, and glitter.

The below items must not be placed in your household recycling sacks:

  • Glass bottles & jars (we recycle these locally and so need to be taken to a bottle bank)
  • Paper of card with glue, glitter, embellishments or ribbons
  • Drink cartons
  • Tetra Pak
  • Water filters
  • Coffee pods
  • Pet food pouches
  • Baby food pouches
  • Plastic film & wrapping

If you put items in your recycling that we can’t accept, all the recycling may be rejected.

How do I order more sacks?

The Council will deliver a roll of 25 blue recycling sacks to your council tax property, usually every 6 months. If you run out before the next drop is due, please complete a Household Sack Request Form and email it to zerowaste@scilly.gov.uk
