Notice of Election published for Bryher vacancy

A Notice of Election has been published today for the vacant Bryher seat on the Council of the Isles of Scilly. The Notice of Election may be found on the Council website.

This election is required by law because no persons were nominated for the Bryher seat at the recent full council election.

If this election is contested, the poll will take place on Bryher on Thursday 24 June.

If you would like to stand as a candidate in this election, nomination packs are available on the Council website. The nomination pack includes a briefing document which will answer many potential questions. If you have any additional questions, please call us on 01720 424545.

If you would prefer a paper copy of the nomination pack, we can send you one in the post or you can collect a copy from the Elections Office at the Old Wesleyan Chapel.

Completed nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Elections Office at the Old Wesleyan Chapel by 4pm on Thursday 27 May. This is a statutory deadline and cannot be extended for any reason.

When coming to the Old Wesleyan Chapel, please make an appointment in advance by calling 01720 424545.

As far as possible, the nominations process will be managed remotely. Where face-to-face contact is necessary, meetings will usually take place outside and public health measures will be followed throughout.
