We have written to owners or operators of businesses listed on the Non-Domestic Rate database to update them about the new start date for the pre-paid commercial waste sack system.
Unfortunately, the shipment of the pre-paid sacks was been held up in Penzance and will not now be shipped until tomorrow (3 April). As this coincides with the Bank Holiday weekend, the bags may not be allocated to customers for collection or postage until Tuesday 7 April 2015.
As a result of this shipping delay we can confirm that the start of the new system has now been moved to Monday, 13 April 2015.
We hope that this extra week will also allow those customers who have not already pre-ordered bags to do so in time for the new start date.
NB: Customers that receive this letter and produce waste that is either taken to an off island waste transfer site or is collected on St Marys are required to purchase these bags. Businesses that have a £0 rating for Non-Domestic Rates are still required to use this system. Please direct any queries to the Waste & Recycling team who will be able to give up-to-date advice and guidance on waste and recycling matters.
