Gateway 2: Draft Plan Review
Expected timing
Approximately Months 7-12 of the Local Plan preparation process (currently anticipated during 2027).
Purpose
Gateway 2 is expected to consider whether the emerging Local Plan is sufficiently developed to proceed to formal publication and consultation.
Likely focus
- Progress on the Local Plan evidence base.
- Development of the plan vision, objectives and spatial strategy.
- Emerging policies and site allocation proposals.
- Progress on the Integrated Impact Assessment and Strategic Environmental Assessment.
- Readiness of the Local Plan to proceed to formal publication and consultation.
