Paying Rent

The rent you pay is used to fund the Housing Services we provide, such as repairs improvements and Housing Management.

To enable us to achieve these objectives we need to collect the rent due to us and it is therefore important that all our tenants pay their rent regularly. Rent arrears put upward pressure on rents and limit our ability to provide the services our customers want.

We provide several ways to pay your rent, which enables you to choose the method which suits you best. However, our preferred payment method is by Standing Order.

How to Pay

Standing Order: This is an agreement between yourself and your bank to send money to the Council. The instruction for payment must come from yourself issued directly to your bank. Please ensure that you quote your last name and your customer account number. We are able to issue you with a standing order form if requested. Our bank details are as follows: Sort Code: 30-96-56 Account number: 00790818

Rent Book:  Cash, card, or cheques can be paid in at one of our customer hub locations (St Mary's Library and Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre). Payments can also be made over the phone on 0300 1234 105 option 5

By Post:  Payments should be sent to Housing, Council of the Isles of Scilly, Town Hall, St Mary's Isles of Scilly. TR21 0LW. Receipts are not normally issued for payments unless specifically requested. Cheques and Postal Orders should be made payable to the Council of the Isles of Scilly. Please write your name, property address, and customer account number on the back of your cheque.
