Waste Reduction Strategy

DRAFT WASTE REDUCTION STRATEGY 2020-2030

***CONSULTATION OPEN UNTIL 13TH DECEMBER 2019***

The Council of the Isles of Scilly would like your feedback on the Draft Waste Reduction Strategy (2020-2030). In 18/19 the island’s disposed of 1,640 tonnes of waste. Whilst our recycling rates have increased significantly since the introduction of the mixed recycling scheme, recycling is not the only solution to deal with the waste we produce. As a community we must focus on waste prevention and reuse opportunities which bring financial savings to the community and reduce our reliance on mainland options, where possible.

You can read a copy of the draft strategy here: DRAFT Waste Reduction Strategy

Copies are also available at the Library and Wellbeing Centre on St Marys as well as off island community centres/island halls.

You can provide feedback via this Feedback Form: Feedback Form.doc or Feedback Form.pdf please submit responses by email to infrastructure@scilly.gov.uk or if you would like to submit a hard copy it can be posted to Infrastructure, Council of the Isles of Scilly, Town Hall, St Mary's, Isles of Scilly, TR21 0LW or dropped into the Town Hall or one of our Customer Hubs at Carn Gwaval and the Library. Please submit responses by 16:30 on 13th December 2019.
